National People's Party (Curaçao)
The National People's Party (PNP, ; ) is a Christian democratic political party in Curaçao established in 1948. The party participated in island council elections of the territory Curaçao as well as the Curaçao-constituency of the Estates of the Netherlands Antilles until the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles in 2010. The party then held seats in the first, second and third Estates of Curaçao, but lost that seat in the 2017 elections. They would obtain their best ever result in the next elections in 2021 for the fifth Estates, winning four seats and over 12% of the votes case. Netherlands Antilles The party was founded in 1948 by Moises Frumencio da Costa Gomez, the first Prime Minister of the Netherlands Antilles. General elections were held in the Netherlands Antilles on 22 January 2010. Voters elected the 22 members of the Estates of the Netherlands Antilles, Estates, or parliament, of the Netherlands Antilles. Maria Liberia Peters
Maria Liberia Peters, also known as Maria Liberia-Peters, (born 20 May 1941) was the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Antilles from 1984 to 1986 and from 1988 to 1994. Life Born Maria Peters in Willemstad, Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles, she attended school and earned a teaching degree in the Netherlands. She later married Niels Liberia, a civil servant. Together they adopted two children. Liberia Peters fell into politics almost accidentally. She was involved in children's issues alongside teaching as her main profession. Juancho Evertsz
Juancho Evertsz (8 March 1923 – 30 April 2008), whose full name was Juan Miguel Gregorio Evertsz, was a Dutch Antillean politician who served as the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Antilles between 1973 and 1977. Evertsz was one of the founding members and leaders of the Antilles National People's Party, which is also known by the abbreviation, NVP. He openly opposed a plan to separate Aruba from the Netherlands Antilles as a separate, autonomous entity within the Kingdom of the Netherlands during his tenure as Prime Minister. Evertsz argued that the removal of Aruba from the Netherlands Antilles would undermine the federation of Dutch islands in the Caribbean. Aruba later seceded from the Netherlands Antilles in 1986, but remained within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
